WINSTED – Jerry “Dale” Cox, III, 16, passed away unexpectedly on Dec. 22, 2010. He was the loving son of Jerry and Carol (Gagnon) Cox. Born Jan. 21, 1994 in Sharon, Dale was a student at Oliver Wolcott Technical High School studying automotive repair. He loved working on cars. He was an exceptional bodyman and had true passion for the trade. He also loved riding quads with his brother Michael, playing video games and football. Dale enjoyed spending time working on vehicles with his cousins, Alex and Spencer. He was also very close with his paternal family in Mississippi and truly enjoyed spending time with them in Mississippi as well as his family in Florida. In addition to his devoted parents, he is survived by two brothers, Michael and Ryan Cox; a sister, Rachael Cox; two half siblings, William and Renee; a cousin, Kirsten Gagnon; and many aunts and uncles. He also leaves his girlfriend, Nicole Dubois. Dale was predeceased by his maternal grandparents, Joseph and Kathleen Gagnon; paternal grandparents, Jerry Sr., and Elizabeth Cox; and an uncle, Glen Gagnon. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, December 29, 2010 at Montano-Shea Funeral Home, 922 Main Street, Winsted at 11 a.m. Friends may call on Tuesday, Dec. 28 at Montano-Shea Funeral Home, Winsted from 6 to 8 p.m. Memorial donations may be made in his name to Webster Bank, C/O Jerry Cox, Ledgebrook Plz, Route 44, Winsted, CT 06098. Food donations for the funeral reception are requested and gratefully accepted.  If you would like to contribute but cannot make the reception, please bring your donation to St. Paul’s by 10:00am on Wednesday, Dec. 29 – it will be couriered up to the VFW Hall on Old Route 8 in Winsted.
